Ten military moms are going viral after a photographer decided to post a photo of the group proudly breastfeeding their babies in uniform.

Photographer and former Air Force service member Tara Ruby recently learned about a new nursing room at Fort Bliss Army Base in El Paso, Texas. She would later offer to help decorate the space with her photography that included the now infamous picture that's been shared close to 8,000 times on Facebook.

"Today I believe we made history," she wrote on Facebook. "To my knowledge, a group photo to show support of active duty military mommies nursing their little's has never been done. It is so nice to see support for this here at Fort Bliss."

While she has no doubt received plenty of praise for the photo, Tara has also faced a few critics.

In fact, when the photograph was first posted on Facebook Thursday evening, it suddenly "disappeared from [Tara's] feed and my wall" for unknown reasons.

She quickly reposted the photo Friday morning allowing the image to spread like wildfire.

"I was active duty a long time ago when support for breastfeeding moms wasn't even an option or a consideration. We have come so far," she wrote. "Breastfeeding their babies doesn't make them less of a soldier, I believe it makes them a better one."

She continued, "Juggling the tasks and expectations of a soldier, plus providing for their own in the best way they possibly can, makes these ladies even stronger for it. I want to say Thank You to everyone that saw my vision, and helped us in succeeding in making it come true. I am 100% for #normalizebreastfeeding. How about you?"
