Try and beat this Saturday night!

Chris Hardwick was already having quite the impressive evening when he picked up an Emmy for Best Creative Achievement in Interactive Media for his show @Midnight With Chris Hardwick.

But hours after the ceremony ended, the comedian and host revealed some exciting personal news. He was engaged to girlfriend Lydia Hearst!

"My biggest win of the night was actually @lydiahearst saying YES!!!!" he wrote on Instagram with a close up of the new bling. "This ring belonged to her grandmother Catherine Hearst and @patriciahearst has graciously and wonderfully passed it down to me to give to Lydia. IT'S OFFICIAL!!!"

He added, "What an absolutely perfect and amazing night!! I love this woman with all my heart....#YesThisMeansWhatYouThinkItMeans."

After the 2015 Creative Arts Emmys, the couple headed to the Chateau Marmont for a surprise after party Hearst never expected. It would end up being the place where sparks flied.

"When we got up to the room I had to confess that I had tricked her when I pulled out the room key. I opened the door and the room was filled with wild flower bouquets and purple rose petals all over the floor (apologies to the housekeeping dept)," Hardwick explained. "And then...IT HAPPENED. I pulled out a candy ring (the one she's getting for real is in NY and needs to be sized). She affirmed that this union was mutually agreeable by bursting into tears."

He continued, "Then there was kissing and cry breath. It was a scene so romantic. I'm surprised a Rachel McAdams movie didn't break out around it. I'm guessing it will ultimately be the only Hearst wedding whose registry includes @thinkgeek."

For anyone who had a doubt that his fiancée was totally impressed, the supermodel took to social media where she shared how happy she was with the whole experience.

"I am so excited and deliriously happy," she tweeted. "@Nerdist completely surprised me and swept me off my feet."

Congratulations to the couple on their happy news!
