Justin Bieber and Ellen DeGeneres were both in New York City this week, so obviously the pals had to hangout—on TV!

The "What Do You Mean?" singer surprised the audience of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which taped outside of 30 Rock, in an episode set to air Friday. Not realizing how many plants would be on her stage, Ellen said she should have invited Nick the Gardener to come along with her. Unfortunately, he's in Los Angeles.

So Ellen asked another friend to "spritz" her orchids, but said friend wasn't available either. Lo and behold, someone else was: The Biebs! As soon as she called him onto the stage and surprised her audience, everyone started fangirling. Girls and women screamed; some even cried.

Even though he was there to take care of the plants, Justin brought along an empty green watering can—so much for his green thumb. Instead, he and Ellen fired T-shirts at the audience with launch guns. But at one point, the "Where Are Ü Now" singer crouched a little too low and fired one directly into a TV camera. Oops!

Whether or not it was on purpose remains to be seen.

Justin and Ellen awkwardly laughed it off and continued to fire T-shirts into the audience. The 21-year-old pop star has been in New York fairly often as of late, as he stopped by The Tonight Show last week and performed on the Today show Thursday. In both appearances Justin talked about his past mistakes and the impetus to change, telling Jimmy Fallon and the morning co-hosts that it feels good to be back for his fans (even though he claimed he never left).

"It just feels so great to just feel the acceptance," he told the Today show co-hosts. "It's not like that's where I get my validation, but it just shows that they're for me and not against me. You always go in this situation, especially for me now I just feel judged, and it's hard but I'm feeling more confident now."

Confident enough to break a TV camera!
