Michael Tran/FilmMagicSaturday Night Live's Pete Davidson, true to form, opted for some shocking humor to pay tribute to his late father, New York firefighter Scott Davidson, who was killed on 9/11.
Davidson was just 7 years old when his father's unit went to the Marriott World Trade Center Hotel, which was destroyed when the Twin Towers collapsed.
The comedian has been very vocal about losing his father in the past, mostly using comedy as a means of talking about the jarring tragedy. For example, during Justin Bieber's Comedy Central Roast, he joked that he'd always regretted growing up without a dad…until he met Bieber's father.

"Can't believe it's been 14 years," he tweeted alongside a photo of the two. "I remember seeing ur gigantic dick like it was just yesterday. RIP Dad #NeverForget."
He shortly followed up with another more emotional post, sharing a collage of old photos with his father and writing, "All jokes aside. There's not a day that goes by where I dont think of u. Ur my hero. Cant wait to see u again someday."

"Can't believe it's been 14 years. Over 2/3 of my life without you," he captioned the post. "It feels like it was just yesterday. There's not a day that goes by where I don't think of you. You're my hero. Can't wait to see you again someday RIP dad 1/4/68-9/11/01 #neverforget."
Meanwhile, the emotional anniversary comes just a few days before Davidson's 1-year anniversary on SNL.
The young comedian joined the cast of season 40 on Sept. 15, 2014, at just 20 years old. Since then, he's already become a fan favorite. As if picking Bieber apart wasn't enough on its own, Davidson won over many hearts with his crude and hilarious live-tweeting of the first two Harry Potter movies, which he concluded are "dope as f--k."
The funnyman first hit the stage when he was 16 before going on to appear on MTV's Guy Code, Wild ‘N' Out and Faliosophy. He also previously guest starred on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and appeared on AXS TV's Gotham Comedy Live and Comedy Central's Adam Devine's House Party.
