The boys are back...and we couldn't be more excited for their return.

Supernatural's 11th season premiere is less than a month away, finally bringing another helliatus to an end. But be careful what you wish for as E! News has your exclusive first look at Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean's (Jensen Ackles) return on Oct. 7, and it's bloody. Like, really bloody.

Judging from the brand-new promo above, which features your first look at new footage, things are getting super-dark on the longrunning CW hit, thanks to, you know, The Darkness taking over at the end of the season 10 finale. "Dark. Darker. Darkess," the video warns of what's ahead. And if that isn't enough, we get glimpses of Sam and Castiel (Misha Collins) both being tortured. No wonder Sam is turning to God for help.

At least fans can look forward to Sam and Dean coming back together after spending most of season 10 at odds. "We have more of an epic feel with a Big Bad, and a quest for the brothers to unite on," showrunner Jeremy Carver teased at Comic-Con. "I think it's a special Big Bad we have this year. It's a pre-biblical story that's never been told. I think it's going to be a fun, epic feel. And most importantly, I think the brothers are going to be united in their need to take this thing down."

Another thing fans can look forward to? The return of Dean's snark, as he makes an amazing Ghostbusters reference in the promo above.

To go along with the exclusive promo above, the CW hit also released a brand-new poster for season 11, teasing the Winchester boys' latest struggle. "The boys are caught between darkness and deliverance," the poster, which also features Cas and Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard), warns. Yes, Crowley is back, even though Sheppard said he was "pretty dead." Phew!

Season 11 of Supernatural premieres Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. on the CW.
