While Angelina Jolie may now be an Oscar-winning actress, a humanitarian, mother of six and the wife of Brad Pitt, there was a time when the 40-year-old beauty was just getting her start.
A recently unearthed flashback video sees the Academy Award-winning actress, reportedly at the age of 25, brushing up on her acting chops in class. The young beauty, who appears to be fresh-faced with her famous plump pout on display, demonstrates a wide range of emotions in the clip, screaming and crying while also showing off her sinister side.
As Vulture points out, shortly after the video was captured, Jolie would soon win the Oscar for her role in the 1999 film Girl Interrupted.
In recent years, there have been rumors that the Unbroken director plans to retire from the business, particularly after she admitted in 2011 interview that she has lost some of her passion for acting.
"As Brad and I get older we're going to do fewer films," Jolie told the Financial Times. "I've been working for a long time, he's been working for a long time, we've had a nice run and don't want to be doing this our whole lives. There are a lot of other things to do."
"I've never not been grateful to be an actor, but I think when I was younger I needed [acting] more," she continued, adding, "[Acting is] like being in therapy, in a way. You're drawn to certain roles because they question something about life, or about love, or about freedom. You ask these questions as you grow up: am I strong enough, am I sane enough? Do I understand love, do I understand myself? I'm older and I know who I am, and I'm less interested in the character helping me answer something than in being able to answer it for myself, as a woman, as an adult, with my family."
