Current playlist: Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American" on loop. Because a Mexican-themed fast food establishment has managed to make its menu more America-esque with just one simple addition.

Taco Bell is apparently testing out a brand new product that almost looks like an attempt to go toe-to-toe with another fried chicken monstrosity: KFC's Double Down sandwich.

A reddit user in Bakersfield, Calif. came across a menu item at Taco Bell that looks like a regular taco but instead of a tortilla shell, it's a shell made of fried chicken.

It's called Naked Crispy Chicken Taco, which sounds both delicious and arousing. It looks very similar to the Double Down, so maybe this is just Taco Bell's way of saying "anything you can do we, we can do…with tacos."

"The Naked Crispy Chicken Taco is our latest food innovation that delivers on our commitment to provide craveable, fun food you can only get at Taco Bell," a Taco Bell spokesperson told Buzzfeed. "It's our first and only taco with its shell made from premium, all-white meat chicken and filled with shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese and fresh diced ripe tomatoes. We're conducting a small test in Bakersfield, California and will roll out nationally if successful."

If successful? You're wrapping a taco in a fried chicken shell. We think you're going to be alright. This is a country that worships at the altar of pizza crusts made out of hot dog bites and sandwiches made from Olive Garden breadsticks, after all.

The Naked Crispy Chicken Taco is $2.99 for a single taco and $4.99 for a combo. The feeling you get when you know you're biting into the American dream? Priceless.
