It's hard to believe it's been 18 years since Princess Diana's passing, but her memory still lives on today.

The first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales, was tragically killed in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997. Her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, were only 15 and 12, respectively, at the time.

Since her untimely death, her sons, now 33 and 30, have worked hard to keep their mother's legacy alive, lending a helping hand to charities such as the Diana Awards, which recognizes young people who have contributed to society in a profound manner.

Additionally, William and wife Kate Middleton recently named their second child, daughter Princess Charlotte, after Diana (the wee one's full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana).

William and Kate wed in a lavish ceremony at Westminster Abbey in April 2011 and the now-father-of-two later told ABC News that is was "very difficult" that his mom wasn't able to attend.

"I think she...she would have loved the day and I think, hopefully, she'd be very proud," he said. "I'm just very sad that she's never going to get a chance to meet Kate."

"I think she had the best seat in the house, probably," Harry added. "But yeah, she would have loved to have been there."

Our thoughts are with William and Harry on this difficult day.
