David Spade is spilling on one of our favorite '90s tabloid tales.

In an interview for the September issue of Details magazine, the 51-year-old Just Shoot Me star revealed that, back in the late nineties, Jack Nicholson swooped in and asked out then-girlfriend Lara Flynn Boyle.

"Nicholson asked Lara Flynn Boyle out in front of me while we were all smoking a doob somewhere," Spade dished to the publication. "She got mad because I didn't stick up for her. I said, 'I've been in this town long enough to know when I'm outranked. You're either gonna go out with him or you're not.'"

According to the Joe Dirt star, "she [Flynn] goes, 'No way. He's worse than Trump!'" but then the two later ended up dating for several years and Spade said he only learned of their romance after the National Enquirer called him and asked for comment.

"The funniest part was, they got caught in a car crash, and she crawled out of the sunroof and yelled, 'I have a boyfriend! I can't be here!' Like, 'Oh, now I'm your boyfriend?'" the SNL alum recalled. "I got a call from the National Enquirer. That's how I found out. She and I didn't talk too much after that."

In the interview, Spade also opened up about the late Chris Farley and admitted he hasn't watched his iconic film Tommy Boy in "probably 10 years."

"It is a little hard. There's an undercurrent of sadness," he said, "Chris' stuff is so funny, but there's not enough of it."

He added, "I don't like the assumption that I think I was in the same league as Chris. I was not. He was his own superstar."
