The Sigma Nu fraternity at Old Dominion University in Virginia has been suspended amid outcry over welcome signs aimed at incoming female students.
The signs, which have since been taken down, were hung from a balcony at an off-campus house and displayed sexually suggestive messages such as "Rowdy and fun, hope your baby girl is ready for a good time," "Freshman Daughter Drop Off" and "Go ahead and Drop Off Mom Too."
Though it's unclear whom the off-campus house belongs to, Jezebel reports that a number of the Sigma Nu fraternity members live there.
ODU's administration condemned the signage in two separate statements to NBC News.

"Messages like the ones displayed yesterday by a few students on the balcony of their private residence are not and will not be tolerated," said ODU's vice president of student engagement and enrollment Ellen Neufeldt on Saturday.
"Our students, campus community and alumni have been offended," university president John R. Broderick added the following day.
Additionally, Old Dominion's Student Government Association filmed a video addressing the scandal and said "the actions taken by a few individuals this week certainly do not represent the position of the university or the ODU students."
The Sigma Nu national fraternity suspended the local chapter, calling the banners "derogatory" and "demeaning."
This isn't the first time a fraternity has made waves for questionable behavior. In March, the national Sigma Alpha Epsilon organization shut down one of its chapters at the University of Oklahoma Sunday after a video surfaced that reportedly showed members of the fraternity chanting racial slurs.
As the Huffington Post also notes, a number of universities in addition to ODU have seen similar signs displayed on and around campus.
