It's been an emotional day for One Direction fans. The "Drag Me Down" video was released, which means we are officially in the post-Zayn Malik era. It's the first music video from the boys that doesn't include their former member, and understandably, it's turning Directioners into a puddle of emotional mush. Seriously, there might be millions of liquefied 1D fans around the world. It might be a serious situation.

But there is one thing that has taken them over the edge: the conspiracy theory that the boys left space for Zayn in the "Drag Me Down" video.

A lot of fans have poured over the space-themed video frame by frame and seem to believe that Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson intentionally left gaps in certain group shots as a nod to their estranged bro.

Or it could be just that there are four boyband members instead of five and it's taking some adjustment. Though we'd like to believe that the other theory is true because it's sweet and causing fans to have full-fledged meltdowns on Twitter. Others are not so convinced.

What do you guys think? Was the gap in the video a little ode to Zayn or are 1D fans reading wayyy too much into it? We can commiserate; you should have seen the overanalyzing we were doing when NSYNC first broke up. It got rough.
