PETA2Little Mix won't be part of any circus act anytime soon.
The British girl group composed of Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson have decided to partner up with PETA to help animals currently performing in acts around the world.
Wearing heavy chains and sitting on a circus-style pedestal, the "Black Magic" singers keep their facial expressions serious as the words "Get Wild Animals Out of the Circus!" flash across the ad.
"We were shocked to learn that wild animals are still suffering in circuses," Pinnock shared in a statement posted on the nonprofit's website. "Animals don't jump through rings of fire for fun—they do so out of fear, and it's time to ban this so-called form of entertainment once and for all."
She continued, "There's no reason why animals should still be suffering in circuses, and we hope that by posing for this ad, we'll be doing our bit to help ban the use of wild animals in circuses. We hope, too, that our fans will join us in supporting PETA's campaign to end this cruelty."
Ringling Bros. recently pledged to phase out all of its elephant acts by 2018. PETA, however, hopes that the creatures don't have to "suffer" another three years on the road.
"True entertainment is watching fantastic human performers like Little Mix—not elephants, lions, and tigers who've been beaten day after day in the circus," peta2 Director Marta Holmberg said in a statement. "peta2 and Little Mix are calling on kind people everywhere to steer clear of any circus that uses and abuses wild animals."
Little Mix's latest campaign comes as the girls continue to celebrate their new album Get Weird, available for pre-order on iTunes now. The group will also be performing their biggest hits on the Today show Wednesday morning.
Fifth Harmony, Pink and Kesha are just some of the stars who have participated in other campaigns with PETA.
