Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, the GOP frontrunner, has been summoned for jury duty in New York City, where he lives. He is to serve in State Supreme Court in Manhattan and plans to report there on Monday morning.
"Yeah, I'll be doing jury duty, can you believe it?" Trump said on Friday night at a campaign event in New Hampshire, according to MSNBC. "I'm looking forward to it. I think it's fun."
"Despite the time that Mr. Trump is required to fulfill this civic obligation, the campaign will continue to go on," Michael Cohen, an executive vice president at the Trump Organization and a member of Trump's counsel, told The New York Times. "He is happy to comply with his civic obligation."
Trump flew to Iowa on Saturday. He is set to speak at the Iowa State Fair, as is Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, and also plans to give people rides on his private helicopter.

? Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 15, 2015Trump was summoned for jury duty five times over the past nine years and failed to appear, The New York Daily News reported, adding that this year, he was fined $250 for his absences.
The outlet quoted Cohen as saying that Trump's failure to appear for previous jury duty engagements "was the result of the unified court system's error in the mailing address." He told The New York Daily News in June, the month Trump announced his candidacy, that the fine will be erased as soon as he shows up for service.
Last week, former President George W. Bush reported for jury duty and was not picked to serve on a case. Florida Senator Marco Rubio was summoned in 2014 and was also not selected to become a juror or alternate.
