Has the cold war between Meek Mill and Drake finally come to an end?

It seems so, as Nicki Minaj's significant other allegedly Instagrammed—and then deleted—a lengthy caption that called for a ceasefire. But with the Internet being the Internet, a fan managed to screenshot the post and share it with the world himself.

"We really only focusing on making it out that's the only war we fighting…" Meek began his post. "I'm not entertaining no rap/real beef over drake s/o rapper! I can't fall for the oldest trick in the book and I never shoulda entertained it bcuz it won't bring me no money or success.. Ima take blame for it even tho 'I can stand' anything I do or say and n----az know. Everybody know everybody watching and anything beyond what's going on is stupid to b reacting on about a bunch of n---as just tryna get on and in the game.. I been in these streets having money for a long time now 'shining hard' and need had a problem with I came up from nothing and my name good."

Although the rapper realized that their fight might not have been worthwhile, he added that social media only makes the issues between them that much worse.

"I don't feel like I gotta try to prove myself to the people and end up in a real situation over this fake rap s--t!" he added. "I'm just on some next level s--t wit it tryna touch some real paper… Leave all that murder one s--t in th streets if you tryna get rich and make it out! All this killer s--t on social media is like walking ya self into prison and that ain't my lifestyle and don't really make sense to me…. I'm getting way too much money to even process the thought of throwing it away about n---as talking about each other like girls they just was claiming they was cool with and at the end of the day they all just tryna get on! All I can say is do ya thing but n---as better smarten up!"

Drake and Mill started to fight in July when Mill accused the Degrassi alum of using a ghostwriter in his songs. The accusation launched a rap battle between the two, with both releasing their own diss tracks and even a couple of memes. Mill's first diss track caught fans by surprise, as it was just a bunch of loud screaming and no actual lyrics. But when Drake released his own song, Mill fired back with another, chock full of insulting lyrics.

Their war extended outside of the music sphere, too, and into the fashion world when Drake decided to wear a "Free Meek Mill" shirt at OVO Festival rehearsals. The shirt was from 2014, when the Philly rapper was incarcerated. Drake took it even further during his actual performance at the festival when he showcased some of the Internet's best memes about their feud.
