Aaliyah fans will be excited to hear this!

The singer may have tragically left us way too soon, but we've now learned that there is still some unreleased music by the songstress that will hit our ears in coming weeks. Timbaland, who has famously worked with Aaliyah on a number of tracks back in the day, announced to fans via Instagram recently that there is new music from the late star coming our way.

With a photo of Aaliyah's face in the clouds, the music producer wrote, "Attention!!!!! People ask me all the time do I have any babegirl music we haven't heard !!!!!well the answer is YES!!!!!!!! TIMBO x BABEGIRL !!!!! Sneak peak coming !!!!!!!"

Though an official collection of previously unreleased music from Aaliyah was released in 2002 as I Care 4 U, more tracks have resurfaced in the following years after her death in 2001.

In 2012, producer Jeffrey "J-Dub" Walker announced his involvement in a second posthumous album, which was allegedly created from a stash of demo vocals, however the project was shut down by Aaliyah's brother Rashad Haughton, who tweeted at the time, "Statement: there is no official album being released and supported by the Haughton family."

Then, you might remember that some of Aaliyah's vocals were used for a collaboration with a Canadian rapper by the name of Drake. Later that year, Drizzy released "Enough Said," which was meant to be part of a larger tribute.

But by 2014, the project was apparently shelved, with Drake's producer, Noah "40" Shebib, saying, "[Aaliyah's] mother saying 'I don't want this out' was enough for me. I walked away very quickly."

In 2013, an Aaliyah hook was featured on Chris Brown's "Don't Think They Know" from his album X, which quickly drew criticism from Timbaland who said, "Aaliyah music only work with its soulmate, which is me."

Well, guess we'll find out if that's true soon enough.
