YouTubeIf you're a diehard fan of The Good Wife (and really, if you're not, you should be), you were left a little…curious about that final scene between Julianna Margulies' Alicia Florrick and Archie Panjabi's Kalinda Sharma. The final scene fans had been waiting for since midway through season four when the two characters stopped having scenes together. The final scene that promised to give fans closure. The final scene that was clearly CGIed, meaning the two actresses were not in the same room together. So what does CBS boss Nina Tassler have to say about it? Not much.
"I just love that you're so passionate about this. Quite frankly, it's a testament to your support and enthusiasm to the show," Tassler told reporters at her CBS Executive session at the TCA 2015 summer press tour. "I'm not going to reveal movie magic."
Tassler called the final scene between Kalinda and Alicia "a very satisfying ending for the relationship between those two characters," saying, "I stand behind how Robert and Michelle [King] produce their show."

Tassler was asked about the scene again after the panel, saying once again it was "movie magic."
"Oh my god. What happened? They ended the relationship. I can tell you right now it's movie magic. The way a producer shoots their show, that's really all I care about. Did the relationships work, did the story work, did the audience feel like they saw the end of the relationship? And they did," Tassler told reporters after the panel. "I haven't really heard that [it affected the way the audience saw the show]. Honestly, from audiences, I've heard they loved the show, people are much more invested in Alicia's journey and that's where the show is going, forward and to the future. Rob and Michelle, they're around, be my guest, go talk to them."
When E! News caught up with Panjabi at the premiere of San Andreas, she was tight-lipped about the scene, but did tell us this: "All I can say is this: the decision making process is not something I'm privy to," she said.
Still, sources told E! News there was no tension between anybody on the set and that everybody was professional. So, the CGI mystery continues.
Panjabi left the show after six years at the end of season six. Matthew Goode will also not return as a series regular. Next year The Good Wife will welcome Margo Martindale, Cush Jumbo and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The network's official description of what's coming up in season seven: "Alicia attempts to revive her struggling law career by once again starting her own law firm, this time with the assistance of Jason Crouse (new cast member Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a calm, experienced investigator whom she hires. Also, to help with his Presidential campaign, Peter engages Willa Eastman (Margo Martindale, recurring), a national strategist who hides her intelligence and cunning under a fake, folksy charm, creating an interesting dynamic with Eli in the process. In addition, Cush Jumbo joins the cast as attorney Lucca Quinn."
The Good Wife returns Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
