What would the Spice Girls be without Posh Spice?!

A recent report claimed that the girl group planned to go on a reunion tour next year to mark the 20th anniversary the release of "Wannabe"—without Victoria Beckham. Fortunately Emma Bunton (that's Baby Spice, to you) set the record straight: Nothing's actually been set in stone just yet.

Let's backtrack, though: It all started when the U.K.'s Sun published an article Friday written by Dan Wooten claiming that Baby along with Mel C (Sporty Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice) and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) has a "secret meeting in London last month" and decided they would get back together as a foursome for a huge international tour in 2016.

Mel C piggybacked off this, teasing a possible reunion when she tweeted, "Woke up this morning wondering whether I need to start practising my backflips???!!!" Emma responded to that tweet, asking playfully, "Do I need to put my pigtails in?!?!?!"

Slow down there, Baby Spice. On London's Heart FM radio show Friday, Emma actually downplayed the report, saying (as excerpted by the BBC), "Nothing's happening at the moment...If anything happens and it's concrete, and we decide on something, I will let you know."

Emma's denial wasn't really a hard no, though. The author behind the Sun post about the purported tour tweeted "a note to people saying Emma 'denied' the story this AM," writing, "She didn't [deny it]. But no official announcement will come until later this year." Emma, subsequently, re-tweeted this tweet. Hmm...

Watch: Mel B Teases Spice Girls 20th Anniversary Reunion

Still, we'll believe it when we see it, because those Spice Girls just love to tease us about a possible reunion! This past February Mel B hinted at getting the band back together sooner rather than later, telling E! News, "I mean, we got together for the Olympics and nobody thought that we were going to get together for that...Next year is our 20th anniversary so we'll see. Maybe we'll do something. Who knows?"

Even Victoria, usually the only Spice Girl to shoot down reunion rumors, gave us an inkling of hope yesterday when she tweeted a sweet Throwback Thursday in homage to her beloved gal pals...

Friendship never ends, dammit!
