Chris Farley lives on in the form of our favorite ogre.
A newly surfaced video features the iconic comedian, who tragically passed away at the age of 33, playing the voice of Shrek from the popular DreamWorks film.
Farley was originally cast as the beloved ogre in the animated flick, but he didn't finish recording before his untimely death in 1997.
The clip, which quickly began making the Internet rounds, features sketches of the film's animated artwork and contains audio from the original dialogue. Farley as Shrek and Eddie Murphy as Donkey can be heard recording one of the most memorable scenes of the movie as Shrek declares, "I want a home. And someone to share it with."
The SNL star, who candidly spoke about his demons, died of a drug overdose. An autopsy later revealed that he had cocaine and morphine in his system at the time of his passing.
Although the Tommy Boy star's life was cut short too soon, fellow SNL star Mike Myers stepped in to voice the character Shrek. The film was released in 2001 and became a smash animated hit.
Meanwhile, the documentary I Am Chris Farley hit theaters last month two days after its star-studded premiere in Hollywood.
"Everybody was saluting him [Chris], and you could do that," Tom Arnold recalled at the film's premiere of his plane ride to Wisconsin following Farley's death. "But then there were moments when you were by yourself and you said, 'Dammit, why him?' But I'm selfish. Life was better with him in it. It really was better."
