SGranitz/WireImageE! News has confirmed that Chris Hyndman, a TV host for a lifestyle show in Canada, has died at the age of 49.
Hyndman, who was a co-host on Steven and Chris with his husband Steven Sabados, was found on Monday with no vital signs in an alleyway in Toronto, according to reports. No other details concerning his death have been disclosed.
The show's Facebook page released the following statement: "It is with profound sadness that we share the news Christopher Hyndman died early this morning. We extend our deepest sympathies to Steven, family, friends and colleagues; our thoughts are with them all."
Hyndman was born in the Canadian province of Newfoundland. In 1992, he co-created The Sabados Group, a design company, with his longtime partner, which became one of many business ventures that the two took on together.
They broke into TV with Designer Guys, an HGTV (Canada) lifestyle show, and even authored Designer Guys: Finding Your Personal Style, the best-selling 2003 book. Along with Steven and Chris, which premiered in 2008, the pair launched a home décor line that features furniture, textiles, decorative accessories and area rugs in 2007.
The pair's website states that their television shows have aired in more than 80 countries across the globe and their design work was featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Fellow HGTV personalities and friends of Chris' have taken to Twitter to tweet their condolences:
