Things are heating up in the custody matter for Chris Brown's daughter Royalty, and it is not looking very pretty.

A source tells E! News that Royalty's mother Nia Guzman has filed legal documents in Houston asking a judge for Chris Brown to only have supervised visitation of their daughter, due to her belief that Brown is too irresponsible to take care of the child on his own. This comes as TMZ reported last month that Brown filed his own documents trying to establish paternity, and a clear custody agreement while also reporting that Guzman was asking for $15,000 a month in child support. The source tells E! News Brown is seeking for joint custody and does not want supervised visitation rights. Nia is seeking to be the primary custodian. A judge has not ruled on the matter.

Brown has been Instagramming photos of Royalty a lot of late. On Sunday, the Grammy winner posted an adorable photo of her holding what looks to be a Lion King plush animal with the caption, "The best thing in my life #QueenRoyalty."

Back in May he posted "I honestly never knew I could love someone as strong as I do. I'm gonna give her the world."

A source told E! News back in April that Brown sees his daughter, who is based in Houston, "all the time," adding "He wants Nia and the baby to move to California to be closer to him. Nia is open to it." The insider also said that Brown and Guzman were "on good terms" at the time and didn't have any interest in coupling up.

"Neither Chris nor Nia is interested in a romantic relationship, which makes things easier. He can do what he wants, she can do what she wants—there's no stress about that."

Chris Brown's camp has not returned a request for comment.
