Maybe Europe isn't for Snoop Dogg.

At an airport in Calabria, Italy on Saturday, Italian finance police stopped the 43-year-old rapper as he prepared to board a private plane headed for England and found about $422,000 in cash inside his Louis Vuitton luggage, Reuters quoting his Italian lawyer, Andrea Parisi, as saying. They seized $205,933 of it, a police source told CNN.

In a bid to curb money laundering, European Union countries prohibit airline passengers from carrying more than 10,000 Euros, which is about $11,000, in undeclared cash.

Parisi told Reuters that Snoop will have to pay a fine and that authorities will continue to hold onto his cash until the amount of the fine is determined.

"We clarified everything from a legal point of view," he said. "The money came from concerts he had performed around Europe. There was no crime; it was just an administrative infraction."

Snoop is on tour in Europe and performed in Italy several days ago. He has not commented himself about the airport incident. He posted a selfie on Instagram last week, writing, simply, "Italy."

Last weekend, he was arrested in Sweden on suspicion of using illegal drugs and was released after undergoing a sobriety test. The rapper, a pot enthusiast and native of California, where cannabis is legal with a doctor's prescription, ranted about the incident and the Swedish police in several expletive-filled Instagram posts, adding that he will never return to the country.
