On Thursday night's episode of The Late Late Show, the 43-year-old actress and the 45-year-old actor were asked about rumors they dated decades ago when they first started in Hollywood.
"You've both known each other for a long time, correct? You've known each other since you were what, 15?" host James Corden asked.
"Quite a while," Slater said before Applegate added, "We're trying to remember."
"There are rumors that you two may have dated," Corden prodded.
"No!" Applegate replied. "Like, you've even been listed on like, ‘Guys she's been with,' and it's like, Christian and I've never dated. We never dated."
"Not even a long lingering kiss?" Corden asked.
"It wasn't from a lack of wanting," Slater laughed as Applegate blushed.
Later on, Corden asked Slater how he picked up women when he was young. "If I was Christian Slater, my pickup line would be, ‘Yes I am. Yes you can. Come on, let's go,'" Corden cracked before adding, "You had some incredible leading ladies in your time."
As for which co-stars he admired, Slater revealed, "Winona Ryder of course, I loved her. Patricia Arquette. There was a lot of obsession."
