Prince George is already trying to pass for an older age.

Although the tiny tot just turned 2, Kate Middleton revealed that the young royal is telling people that he's actually 3 years old. While attending the British leg of the America's Cup World Series Sunday, the Duchess of Cambridge chatted with a young boy named Freddie Wilson.

"Hello princess, my name is Freddie Wilson," he said to Prince William's wife.

Kate responded by asking him how hold he was, and his mom, Wendy Maxwell, told reporters that her son responded by saying he's 3.

But Maxwell confessed the truth to Kate and explained, "When I said he is only 2, she said, 'George says that. He thinks that he's older.'"

So cute! George, who turned 2 just last week, is already trying to grow up. So how did the royal family celebrate his entering of the terrible twos? Supposedly with festivities at their country home in Norfolk, according to People

Now that Wills has revealed that George can act like a "little monkey," they probably needed all the space they could get for him to run around on his special day.

Fortunately, Amner Hall has plenty of space for him to exert his energy, at the private 10-bedroom home is located on Queen Elizabeth II's 20,000-acre Sandringham Estate. Even though Kate and William's firstborn is destined to be king, they're trying to give their son as normal a childhood as possible, which includes shielding him and sister Princess Charlotte from the press more often than not.

"[PrincessDiana tried very much to give William and [PrinceHarry normal lives. But they were always photographed, there was always someone lurking in the bushes," says Katie Nichol, author of Kate: The Future Queen.

"William really doesn't want that for George or his sibling so by being in the countryside they can just have a normal childhood, which is what Kate had and is what I think William loves about the Middletons. And that's something he'd loved to emulate for his own family."

With little George already telling people he's 3, he'll probably be ready to take the throne next year if and when he finds out that is his destiny.
