The social media war between Donald Trump and Gov. Rick Perry won't let up!

Only one day after Perry aids retweeted several of Trump's tweets from 2011 and 2012, when Perry was running for president, Trump shared a photo on Instagram of the twosome looking chummy in his office. The caption, however, was anything but friendly.

".@GovernorPerry in my office last cycle playing nice and begging for my support and money. Hypocrite!," he captioned the pic.

The pair has been publicly battling it out over Trump's controversial comments on immigration and his remarks about Sen. John McCain's war hero status, but Perry wasn't going to overlook the real estate mogul's social media call out. In an essay on his website posted Wednesday, titled Defending Conservatism Against the Cancer of Trump-ism," Perry attacks Trump and the type of politician he believes the businessman to be.

"In times of trouble, there are two types of leaders: repairers of the breach and sowers of discord," he explains. "The sower of discord foments agitation, thrives on division, scapegoats certain elements of society, and offers empty platitudes and promises. He is without substance when one scratches below the surface."

Creating a new term, Perry describes the "sower of discord" as someone who subscribes to "Trumpism."

"He offers a barking carnival act that can be best described as Trumpism: a toxic mix of demagoguery, mean-spiritedness and nonsense that will lead the Republican Party to perdition if pursued," he writes. "Let no one be mistaken – Donald Trump's candidacy is a cancer on conservatism, and it must be clearly diagnosed, excised and discarded."

Trump has been getting himself into hot water with most of the GOP presidential candidates, who have continued to call him out for his "rapist" remarks about immigrants from Mexico. He has responded to many of his critics with various statements, but after Sen. Lindsey Graham called Trump a "jackass," the real estate maven read out Graham's personal cell phone number during a rally.

Let's just say that took the feud to an entirely new level.
