When in doubt, your family's got your back.

Donald Trump's three kids are rushing to his defense amid ongoing controversy during his presidential campaign.

Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka Trump all joined forces to release the following statement to People in support of their famous father, saying, "He is a brilliant negotiator with a proven track record of getting things done. Most importantly, he is an incredible dad and role model."

Their statement continued, "He raised us to work hard and strive for excellence in all that we do. We love and respect him very much."

Trump's tongue has continually landed him in hot water ever since announcing that he is running for president in the 2016 election, and his latest war of words (no pun intended) aimed at John McCain ruffled plenty of feathers.

And in case you missed it, over the weekend the 69-year-old said that McCain was "not a war hero," despite the fact that he famously spent five and a half years in a POW camp during the Vietnam War.

"He's a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured," Trump added while speaking at a Family Leadership Summit in Iowa.

Since then, he's (sort of) backtracked his statement during an appearance on The O'Reilly Factor.

"I think you would admit here tonight that was a mistake because John McCain is a war hero and you know that," Bill O'Reilly stated.

"But I haven't said anything different," Trump insisted shortly before being asked to clarify whether he believes McCain is in fact a war hero.

"I do," he answered. "And by the way, I said it, I actually said it four times."
