Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose are your new FBI agents on The X-Files. Amell will play the "smart, smooth" Agent Miller and Ambrose will take on the role of "sharp, confident" Agent Einstein in an upcoming episode of The X-Files revival, according to Fox.

Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are returning to their iconic roles of Dana Scully and Fox Mulder in a six-episode event series this January. Series Chris Carter is behind the revival. Other guest stars so far include Joel McHale, Rhys Darby, Kumail Nanjiani and Annet Mahendru. Mitch Pileggi will also return as Walter Skinner and William B. Davis will somehow be back as The Smoking Man. Silicon Valley star Nanjiani and McHale are professed big fans of the series. Nanjiani shared his experience on Twitter.

Notice any similarities between the new faces and the show's heroes? Yeah, that's for obvious reasons. We heard the next generation FBI agent characters were originally supposed to be just around for one episode, but the deals changed to possibly include series regular options. Hmm…

Ambrose's other TV credits include Law and Order: SVU, Dig, Six Feed Under. Amell starred in The Tomorrow People and recurs on The Flash.

The X-Files returns with a two-night premiere starting Sunday, Jan. 24 at 10 p.m. ET, 7 p.m. PT and continuing Monday, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m. in its normal timeslot.
