AKM-GSILouis Tomlinson has spoken out for the first time since it was revealed earlier this week that the One Direction member is going to be a dad.
"Amazing show ! Thank you for the support !!" the 23-year-old English pop star, who is expecting a baby with Los Angeles-based stylist Briana Jungwirth, tweeted in the wee hours of Thursday morning following the band's On the Road Again Tour stop in Seattle, Wash. on Wednesday night.
The tweet comes one day after E! News confirmed that Tomlinson is expecting his first child with Jungwirth. The soon-to-be parents met through mutual friends earlier this year after the boybander's split from longtime girlfriend Eleanor Calder.
While the pair is not currently a couple, Tomlinson has expressed that he will be a very "hands on" dad and remain by Briana's side throughout the pregnancy, according to People.
"Louis is happy and very excited about becoming a dad and he thinks Briana will be an amazing mother," a mutual friend of the couple told the mag. "It was a surprise at first, but he and Briana are very, very close friends and this has brought them even closer."
The source added: "They are both really happy and although they aren't in a relationship, their friendship is extremely strong and they are both really excited about the baby. It's early days and Briana and the baby's health are the most important things right now."
Prior to the band's Seattle concert, the 1-D hottie was last spotted boarding a plane in Los Angeles. One Direction is next scheduled to perform tonight in Vancouver, Canada.
