Houston Texans player J.J. Watt can check one big goal off his list: meeting his celebrity crush, Jennifer Aniston. "It's been years in the making. She's always been my celebrity crush, there's no secret about that," he confessed to E! News on Tuesday at the Gatorade Athlete of the Year Awards.

The 26 year-old couldn't quite keep his cool when he met the former Friends star, "I'm not even going to try and pretend that I acted cool during this moment because I was anything but cool."

"I got butterflies." Watt said, "I was extremely shy. I don't get nervous meeting people, and I got nervous meeting her."

The meeting happened by "happenstance." The lifelong goal was achieved when the two were in the same building in Los Angeles on Monday. Watt told his agency when he joined the league, "If there's ever any point in my life where I could meet Jennifer Aniston, I think that'd be pretty incredible!"

"Nobody planned it. There had been a plan, I now have since heard there was going to be a plan to have us meet up at a dinner at some point in the week, but it just happened to be we were in the same building yesterday."

Watt joked that he shook her hand instead of hugging her, "Then I left the room without proposing. It was a complete disaster."

The 6-foot-5-inch football star is quite talented on the field, continually breaking and setting new NFL records, and has even tried his hand at a little acting, most recently with a New Girl guest star appearance. So will he be popping in any Aniston flicks soon? "We'll see, you never know. Maybe if we can work something out, it'd be fantastic."

Since Aniston, who is engaged to Justin Theroux is taken, many fans wonder if Watt has a girlfriend. Rumors swirled that JJ might be dating tennis star Caroline Wozniacki, but on Tuesday, the Texans player said, "I'm single."

The humble and charismatic athlete admits his schedule makes dating difficult, but he's also single, because he's holding out for the right one: "My schedule is so crazy. Trust me I want to find a wife, I want to have kids. I want all of that. I absolutely want that!" he told us.

"I want a girl who's passionate, driven, a girl who believes in herself," Watt continued. "Basically, I want that relationship where we have that love. I love her so much and she loves me so much, that it's just. You want that relationship where you look into the girl's eyes, and you know that she's everything you've ever wanted. When I find that I'm going to get it!"
