Donald Trump Deleted TweetTwitter

Well, this is one way to get folks' attention.

Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has come under fire (again) after a new campaign promo pic was uploaded to his official Twitter page on Tuesday. At first glance, the image contains a photo of Trump, $100 bills and soldiers, but take a closer look, and it's clear the army men are Nazis fighting in World War II.

Oops.

"We need real leadership. We need results. Let's put the U.S. back into business!" read the caption printed across the bottom of the photo.

A number of Twitter users immediately pointed out that Trump had mistaken the Waffen SS. troops for U.S. soldiers, and the tweet was quickly deleted.

E! News reached out to Trump's team for comment on the photo in question, and his camp responded by blaming an intern for the serious snafu.

"Mr. Trump has been in Charlottesville, Virginia all day at the opening of a development. A young intern created and posted the image and did not see the very faded figures within the flag of the stock photo," the statement read. "The intern apologized and immediately deleted the tweet."

Meanwhile, according to a newly released USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll, Trump is currently in the lead of the GOP presidential hopefuls. The nationwide poll reports that 17 percent of those surveyed said Trump was their top candidate for the Republican nomination. The only other politician to reach double-digit popularity is Jeb Bush, who garnered a 14 percent vote of those polled
