The Internet Is Mad That Scott Walker Is Running for President

We've got another Republican

How many Republican presidential candidates is too many? 15, apparently.

This morning Scott Walker announced that he was jumping into the fray, which means that the 2016 election can officially be described as a clusterf--k. That is the correct technical term, of course. For his part, Walker is running on the platform of, well, we're not quite sure, but it has something to do with being a leader. In his video message he promised to offer "fresh leadership with big bold ideas from outside of Washington to actually get things done." Alrighty.

For America's part, they're pissed. And not just it's-Monday-morning-and-we're-easily-annoyed pissed, but genuinely angry. It seems that Walker's announcement has struck a nerve on Twitter, whether because it highlights the sheer ridiculousness of the size of the candidate field, or because people just straight up don't like the guy. It could also have something to do with the state taste leftover from Donald Trump and his immigration comment fiasco. (The Miss USA pageant was just last night).

But for whatever reason, the Internet is not taking this new political development lightly. First up on the burn train is none other than The Onion. In fitting fashion, the satirical site published a biting candidate profile on Walker, listing his birthplace as "Tea Party comment thread," and his chief political rival as "Those who want to make a living wage." Ouch.

Next up was the Twitterverse—kicking things off was AFL-CIO leader Richard Trumka with a straight-up skewering, and he was followed by a slew of citizens either totally exhausted by the candidacy circus or just plain pissed at Walker himself. Either way, make sure you wear your protective gear before you scroll any further because this fire is burning hot.
