There's a new dark villain coming to Arrow. Oops, we meant Darhk. Neal McDonough has joined the Arrow cast as comic book baddie Damien Darhk. He'll be a series regular, E! News has confirmed.

The character was mentioned during season three, but never seen. In Arrow, the character is the leader of H.I.V.E. and a former member of the League of Assassins, the one-time friend to Ra's al Ghul. In the comics, he was a villain to the Teen Titans. Here's the official character description: "Damien Darhk is a mysterious and sophisticated villain, and an adversary of the late Ra's Al Ghul. Now the leader of his own clandestine group, this cunning foe will prove to be one of the Arrow's greatest challenges."

McDonough's past TV credits include Suits, Mob City, Justified and Desperate Housewives.

This isn't the first comic book role McDonough has taken on. He played the role of Dum Dum Dugan on the big screen in Captain America and brought the character back for Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He also voiced Green Arrow/Oliver Queen in a series of DC Comics shorts in 2010.

McDonough joins Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, Willa Holland, David Ramsey, Paul Blackthorne, Emily Bett Rickards and John Barrowman as regulars in the upcoming fourth season.

Arrow is set to premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 7, on The CW.
