Cassidy Gifford has some wonderful support from her mom, Kathie Lee Gifford!
The Today host opened up to E! News about her daughter's blossoming career at the premiere of The Gallows, and couldn't help but gush about how far she has come.
"We don't say proud because pride comes before the fall, and we've all seen a lot of that in Hollywood," she joked. "So years ago Cassidy said, 'We need a God word for proud,' so we came up with 'groud,' which means grateful to God for all the wonderful things that are happening in your life, but totally aware you could have a mug shot by morning."
Leave it to Kathie Lee to keep it real! In other words, she said, she tries to "keep it in perspective."
Although Kathie Lee has found major success on the news side of the industry, she admitted that she doesn't mind that her daughter, 21, didn't follow in her footsteps.
"They have the right to dream their very own dreams, but our job as parents is to help those dreams come true in anyway we can," she said.
Cassidy's mom wasn't the only one on hand to celebrate her accomplishment at the Hollywood High School Event! Godmother Kris Jenner and pal Kylie Jenner also attended the horror movie's premiere. Additional celebrities at the event included Rich Kids of Beverly Hills star EJ Johnson as well as E!'s Jason Kennedy and wife Lauren Scruggs.
Kylie posted a picture of herself with her pal on the red carpet and captioned it, "Yay! Everyone go see my God sisters movie out this Friday #thegallows. If you like scary you'll love this. @cassidygiff."
Kathie Lee later tweeted her thanks to Kris and Kylie for coming out to celebrate. This must have been the double mother-daughter date to end all dates.
