Spoiler alert! People are ginormous judgy a--holes!

Let's travel back in time to 2009. It's season three of Britain's Got Talent, and we meet 47-year old Susan Magdalane Boyle, who traveled from a small village in Scotland in hopes of sharing her voice with the world. But all anyone sees are her bushy eyebrows and beige tablecloth looking dress, thinking, "There is no way this woman has talent!"

They don't set her up in the best light either: They show her eating cake in the green room and talking about never having been kissed, living alone with her cat, Pebbles. But who are we to prejudge her singing abilities? It's really quite sad actually. As Susan walks onto the stage, the camera pans to audience members who are clearly making fun of her.

But guess what? Susan doesn't care what people think! She gives Simon Cowell some sass, thrusting her hips back and forth as she sings Les Misérables' "I Dreamed a Dream."

Before she started singing, Simon wasn't even looking at her, like staring down into space. But as soon as she begins, he peers up and grins from ear to ear. The other judges, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden, are in shock staring at her and within seconds the audience is on its feet cheering. It's really emotional—we may have been crying while writing this.

After she finishes, Piers says, "Everyone was laughing at you, no one is laughing now!" And Amanda follows up by saying, "I am so thrilled because I know that everybody was against you, I honestly think we were all being very cynical and I think that's the biggest wakeup call ever."  Duh! We were all judging her based on what she looked like and well, we were wrong (obviously).

And with three yeses and standing ovations, Susan went all the way to the finals that year!

They also gave her a makeover.
