Grease is the word for Aaron Tveit. The Graceland star has been cast as Danny Zuko in Fox's Grease Live, E! News has confirmed.

"I'm thrilled and honored to be joining this incredibly talented team of actors in re-imagining this classic and beloved musical," Tveit said in a statement "Playing Danny Zuko is a dream role and I can't wait to be a part of all the fun that comes along with performing live on television."

Carlos PenaVega of Big Time Rush will play Kenickie.

Tveit, whose USA series is now in its third season, has appeared on Broadway in Wicked, Next to Normal and Catch Me If You Can. His other credits include Gossip Girl, Law and Order: SVU, The Good Wife and the 2012 film version of Les Misérables.

Tveit will star opposite Julianne Hough and Vanessa Hudgens in Fox's production of Grease. Hough will take on the role of Sandy and Hudgens is Rizzo.

"Grease is one of the movies that made me want to be an entertainer, and I have literally been waiting my whole life to play Sandy," Hough said in a statement when her casting was announced. "My siblings and I watched it and played it out over and over when we were kids. This is my dream role and performing it live on television will be one of the most thrilling opportunities I've had in my career so far."

"Being Rizzo is something I've never imagined, and I love that because it will be a new challenge," Hudgens said in a statement. "She is such an iconic character that continues to transcend generations. I cannot wait to bring her to life on live television. I'm going to be a Pink Lady!"

Grease Live is set to premiere January 31, 2016 on Fox.
