Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard headed to the airport Sunday morning with baby Israel to board a plane traveling to their mission destination.
"So excited for @jillmdillard & @derickdillard! They've been praying about and working towards this transition since late last year, and are so excited to finally be heading to the mission field!" Jessa Duggar wrote on Instagram. "Please continue to pray for them!"
She continued, "Be sure to check out their blog at www.dillardfamily.com. ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.' Mark 16:15."
While their exact destination remains unknown at this time, some fans are speculating that Nepal could be the family's future temporary home.
What is certain is the couple's intention to make a difference in the lives of the many strangers they will meet during their mission.
"We have a deep love and care for all of the world and a real passion for those in the nations, as many have even seen in the early stages of our relationship," Derick wrote in a recent blog post. "Our hope is that all peoples of the world would come to repentance and put their hope in the Lord, Jesus Christ."
He added, "We don't expect this new adventure to always be easy. But God never promised that following Him wouldn't have its challenges."
Before the mission began, the family spent one final night at home where they celebrated the Fourth of July as a family.
According to Instagram, Jill and Derick were able to enjoy a relaxing evening in the great outdoors where fireworks were definitely in order.
"Happy Independence Day!" Jill captioned on social media. "We are celebrating with family today. #4thofJuly #fireworks."
