Katherine Heigl stars in another romance film involving a wedding and this time, her love interest is played by...a Gilmore Girl!

That's right, the 36-year-old Knocked Up actress and Alexis Bledel, 33, play a lesbian couple in the new movie Jenny's Wedding, whose trailer was released this week.

Heigl's character's family is très excited their little girl is getting married. But not so much after she tells them there's no groom involved.

"You're marrying your roommate?" Heigl's character's mother asks her.

"She's not my roommate," the actress replies.

Bledel talked about her character, Kitty, in an interview with lesbian magazine Curve in 2014.

"She doesn't expect Jenny to come home and say that she wants to get married one day," she said. "That's probably the last thing she ever expected her to say. It's something that she was hesitant to want because she didn't know if that was something Jenny would be capable of since she hadn't even told her family she was a lesbian."

Jenny's Wedding also stars Tom WilkinsonLinda Emond and American Horror Story and The Newsroom star and Meryl Streep's daughter Grace Gummer.

The movie's director and screenwriter is Mary Agnes Donoghue, who penned the script for the 1988 hit BeachesJenny's Wedding is set for release on July 31, a little more than a month since the U.S. Supreme Court rule to legalize gay marriage.

Jenny's Wedding is based on a true story.

"It was incredible to meet the woman that my character was based on, and the real-life Jenny, to meet them, the couple, and to get to experience that they're much the way Mary Agnes wrote them in the film," Bledel told Curve. "And to see them enjoy this reimagining of their actual wedding and to get to be a part of it. It was a great day on the shoot."

Last year, Heigl had helped promote an Indiegogo campaign to raise $150,000 in funding for the movie. A little more than $96,000 was raised.

"Jenny's Wedding is a movie I'm so proud to be a part of," Heigl had tweeted. "Love the story and the characters. Hope you will too!"
