Bristol Palin is firing back at her haters, literally.

The 24-year-old reality star, who is currently expecting her second child, took to Instagram today in an effort to prove she's ignoring the pregnancy backlash—and it's safe to say shots have been fired.

Posting a pic of herself holding a shotgun rifle, the daughter of Sarah Palin captioned the image with a bible verse which read, "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. Proverbs 31:25."

Palin's latest social media message comes just five days after she announced her pregnancy in a blog post. "I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you," she wrote. "But please respect Tripp's and my privacy during this time. I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy."

In a second blog post just three days later, Palin, whose first pregnancy drew national attention when it was announced on the opening day of the 2008 Republican National Convention, clarified that this pregnancy was planned and said she does not regret her baby on the way.

"This baby is not a disappointment, and I cannot wait to be a mom times two," she wrote. "Tripp is going to make the best big brother!!"

Palin has yet to reveal who is the father of her second child. Last month, she called off her wedding to 26-year-old Marine Dakota Meyer days before the two were scheduled to tie the knot.

The conservative star welcomed her first child, Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, in December 2008 when she was just 18 years old. She was previously engaged twice to Tripp's father, Levi Johnston, although the two split for good in 2010.

Following her first pregnancy, Palin began working with The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy and became an ambassador for the Candie's Foundation raising awareness about teen pregnancy prevention.

The Candie's Foundation has since stood by Palin in the wake of the pregnancy backlash.

"In 2011, when she was just 19, Bristol Palin was enormously helpful to The Candie's Foundation in our mission to educate teenagers about the devastating consequences of teen pregnancy," the organization said in a statement. "Her courage, while still a teen herself, to admit her mistakes so publicly in an effort to help others was remarkably brave. Today, at 24, we can only offer our support to Bristol and her family and respect her request for privacy."
