It's hard to believe that after ten years of marriage, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are divorcing, especially given the amount that they've gushed about one another over the course of the past decade.

The A-listers have been both complimentary and candid about their marriage in interview after interview, so in light of today's split news, let's take a look back at some of the most memorable quotes about their relationship.

September 2010: During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the actor shared, "I have three women in the house…I get to be wrong three times a day." But despite the sarcastic joke, Affleck added, "I am madly in love. I have the best family."

December 2011: The Alias star opened up in InStyle about how she and her then-husband know the importance of teamwork. "We both know we couldn't do what we do without each other. Ben always says, 'If you love it, we can make it happen.' He knows when to swoop in with the gesture. He's sweet that way. Honestly, I would anything for that man, because I know it's not taken for granted."

October 2012: Affleck dished to The Hollywood Reporter about his former leading lady, saying, "She is truly kind. She means no one any harm. She doesn't have ill will for any person. She's not competitive with other people. She's not spiteful."

He added, "It's one of those things where it becomes almost aggravating at times. Every time I go, 'F--k him!' I see in her face that she just thinks that's petty and small."

May 2013: During the Oscar-winning actor's return to Saturday Night Live, his wife stopped by to joke about his notoriously awkward Academy Awards speech. "I want to tell you how I wish I had ended that speech: I couldn't do any of the things I do without you, without your support. You're my angel, my life, my world."

September 2014: During an interview with InStyle last fall, the Dallas Buyers Club star admitted, "When we had our first, we had one been together a year. We were babies. It happened so fast, I hardly even remember what we were like before the kids got here. Now we're just starting to go away for a night here and there."

Garner continued, "You go through phases. You can't expect to be courted all the time, and I don't want to court him right now—I don't have the energy! But we're definitely in a very mindful place when we're making an effort to be together, do things at the same time, and be loving."

But no quote seems as strong as today's statement, which the two made together, announcing that they were ending their marriage just one day after their tenth wedding anniversary.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time."
