Don't mess with Julia Roberts.
In the upcoming thriller Secret In Their Eyes, Roberts is an FBI investigator whose her life is torn apart when her daughter is brutally murdered.
Fast forward 13 years later when Roberts goes looking for her daughter's killer based on a lead from a fellow agent played Chiwetel Ejiofor. Nicole Kidman plays a district attorney.
A new trailer for the Billy Ray-directed film was released earlier today.
In one harrowing scene, Roberts screams out in agony when she learns that her daughter's body has been found in a dumpster.
"The death penalty would be too good for him," Roberts says to Ejiofor.
When it seems that Kidman is refusing to reopen the cast, Roberts is heard saying, "I don't have the stomach to watch him walk away again.
"Maybe we go about this a little less officially," she says while brandishing a billyclub. "Justice—I owe my daughter that."
Ejiofor tells Kidman that they better find the killer before Roberts does.
Roberts warns them, "He could quit his job, he can change his name, he could dump his car—but I will still find him."
Secret In Their Eyes is in theaters Oct. 23.
