The saga continues.

If nothing else, the newly revealed title for the planned sequel to 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy let's you know exactly that. There's more to the story. Another chapter will be written.

Director James Gunn let slip in a conversation during Ant-Man's press day that the next film in the franchise is called Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and there was of course some skepticism at first when he confirmed the news via Twitter.

"Yes, the official title for the @Guardians sequel is GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2. Nice detective work, @colliderfrosty, etc! You got us!" he tweeted at Collider editor-in-chief Steven Weintraub.

The tweet could be interpreted as coming off mildly sarcastically, so Gunn then took to Facebook to confirm that was indeed the title, in all its obvious glory, the title being a play on team leader Peter Quill's Awesome Mix Vol. 1 in the film.

"[Ant-Man producer] Kevin Feige recently let the title slip while doing Ant-Man press, which I'm really happy about because God knows I've let more than one thing slip accidentally while chattering away on this FB page," Gunn wrote.

"Also, hats off to some intrepid fans who figured out the title a couple of days after I posted the cover page. More than one person guessed 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' - I wanted so badly to give you props at the time, but knew I had to wait.

"For Kevin to mess up. Haha.

"PS ANT-MAN PREMIERE TONIGHT AND I AM STOKED!"

Dude! Totally!

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, plot TBD, is due in theaters on May 5, 2017.

Leading man Chris Pratt, meanwhile, is busy helping yet another franchise into the history books. Jurassic World, starring Pratt as the raptor whisperer and voice of reason when billionaire investors and the U.S. military start getting people killed, has topped the box office for three weekends in a row and has grossed more than $1.2 billion around the world.

The first Guardians of the Galaxy earned $774 million globally, so... Pratt's got a bit of a winning streak going. Can't wait for Vol. 2!
