Should go without saying, but there's no shame in wearing makeup—and a beauty vlogger has started a movement to prove the point.

That would be Nikkie (of NikkieTutorials), whose video "The Power of Beauty" describes the unfortunate phenomenon of women being shamed for, well, liking to wear makeup. Her pro-makeup (but really pro-do-what-makes-you-feel-good) vid quickly went viral, and also spurred an Instagram movement (with its own hashtag, natch): #thepowerofmakeup.

Under this call-to-action, women have been posting selfies showing their faces both with and without makeup, and the pre- and post-beauty splits are quite captivating. The message behind the movement is even better than its selfie manifestation, however: Wearing makeup shouldn't be stigmatized—especially when the woman wearing makeup feels wholly empowered by it. See some of the #thepowerofmakeup transformations below!
