Nope, this is how horror movies start. This is essentially the opening scene of The Amityville Horror, and a New Jersey family recently lived the stuff of nightmares when they realized their new house came complete with a horrifying stalker.
The Broaddus family had to abandon their 1.3 million dollar home they recently purchased in Westfield, N.J. You can see a photo of the house up there from CBS New York's story on this scary situation. Doesn't it look like it belongs on the set of a horror film? And that is why you always visit a neighborhood in the evening before moving somewhere new. Maybe if the family would have seen how ominous the house looks in the dead of night, they would have thought twice about signing on the dotted line.
Just kidding, this is absolutely not the Broaddus family's fault. This is the fault of the creepy-ass stalker that apparently came with the house. Seriously.
After three days at their new house, the family started getting terrifying letters from someone called "The Watcher." How terrifying? On a scale of 1 to 10, these notes are at about a "Michael Meyers and Satan teaming up to murder everyone."
Here are some of the chilling messages contained in the letters:
[The house] has been the subject of my family for decades. I have be [sic] put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming. My grandfather watched in the 1920s and my father watched it in the 1960s. It is now my time.
Do you need to fill the house with the young blood I requested? Have you found all the secrets it holds. Will the young bloods play in the basement. Who has the bedrooms facing the street? I will know as soon as you move in.
Have they found what is in the walls yet? In time they will.
I am pleased to know your names now, and the name of the young blood you have brought to me.
No. NOPE. The family obviously knew better than most families in horror movies, because they got the hell out of there out of fear for their safety. They had to just abandon their brand-new house because these letters were so disturbing, and we don't blame them one bit.
The cops are still investigating who this "Watcher" is, and reportedly haven't made much progress.
"Our police have conducted an exhaustive investigation into the threatening letters," Mayor Andy Skibitsky said during a recent town meeting. "Our police went the extra measure and left no stone unturned."
Make sure you check the stones in the depths of hell, because that's certainly where this messed-up person came from.
