This may just be the best presidential-candidate announcement yet.

In one of several videos already posted to Bobby Jindal's website that show the governor of Louisiana discussing his decision to seek the Republican nomination in 2016 with his family (a key discussion he had to have, he said, before revealing his intention to the rest of the world), Jindal's three adorable kids have their talking points all ready to roll.

"Mommy and Daddy have been thinking and praying about this a lot," Jindal explains as his sons and daughter listen politely, presumably because they're nice kids in general and were specifically told to sit and listen politely while they're on camera (which is apparently up in a tree somewhere). "And we wanted to talk to you first."

I had to tell a few people first. But I want you to be next. I?m running for President of the United States of America. Join me: http://www.bobbyjindal.com/announcement/

"Mommy and Daddy have been thinking and talking a lot about this, and we have decided that we are going to be running for president," he continued.

"What do you think about that?" Jindal's wife, Supriya, asked one son, who gives the decision a double thumbs-up.

And all of the kids are totally on board, of course, liking the idea of going back to Iowa (where the whole process really kicks off next year) because the state has great popcorn and they've got a "pretty cool" fair.

What daughter Selia really wants to know, however, is whether, if he wins, she can get a puppy.

"Yes, if we move into the White House, you can get a puppy," Jindal assures her. Then his son spies a turtle, and it's all over.

My daughter Selia cut to the chase: she wanted a puppy. I gave in, but with some conditions.

Presumably, when the 44-year-old, Baton Rouge-born politician addresses constituents and the rest of the United States, as he's expected to do today in Kenner, La., his message will be a little more on point.

Though puppies and turtles could certainly be considered a bipartisan issue worth getting behind.
