When it comes to his kids' love lives, Arnold Schwarzenegger said, "They just do their own thing." And, duh, that's for the best. The Terminator Genisys star was a guest on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show Wednesday, where he was asked to discuss his son Patrick Schwarzenegger's prior relationship with Miley Cyrus.

"Under normal circumstances maybe I would be nervous, but I'll tell you the two reasons why not. One is my kids are very strong. They have had their upbringing. They know exactly how far they can go and they should be adventurous, they should venture out and meet different people, so I was not worried about that. The other thing is when I did meet Miley Cyrus, when she came up to Sun Valley skiing during the holidays, I found out that she was a fantastic person."

Arnold said there were "little kids" on the family's Idaho trip, and Miley "went out every day to buy gifts for them. She played with them, played with her phone and showed them things." He added that Miley would spend time with the children for "two hours sometimes at a time" and was "a wonderful person" to be around.

The actor realized that may surprise some critics.

"She has this career side where she has to be a little bit out there and maybe is a little bit different because she grew up in a music family. So what? It didn't bother me," Arnold explained. "I think Patrick had a wonderful experience, he had a great relationship, and then a whole thing eventually fell apart."

Patrick is currently single and focusing on his career. This week, it was announced that he scored his first major role opposite Bella Thorne in Midnight Sun. "He has been going to acting class," Arnold said. "He has been studying at USC—business and economics. He has been working very hard on both of those things, and he has done little parts in movies, and this time he got one of the leading roles in a movie."

"I am very proud of him that he is doing so well," Arnold added.

The action movie star added that he isn't worried about letting his five children follow in his famous footsteps. "I made it very clear to my kids: I don't care if they're a plumber, if they're a writer or if they're a teacher. Whatever they want to do, [I will support them], as long as they're passionate," Arnold said.
