We don't know what we did to deserve this! But regardless, Google has finally answered our prayers and we couldn't be happier.

Today the tech company announced that Gmail will now have an Undo Send option. Let the accidental emails commence!

In short what the feature will do is allow users to cancel a sent email if they have second thoughts immediately after it goes out. Which, if you're as neurotic as us, is basically all the time.

The option has actually been in the works at Google for over six years. Those lucky enough to use Gmail Labs have been enjoying the freedom of email recall for some time, so it's a pretty legendary move to make it available to the emailing masses. Now if Apple could invent a way to bring back drunken, ill-advised texts messages, life would be infinitely better.

Of course there a few things you should know about Undo Send. For starters, it's available only on the web. That means that when you're distractedly typing out emails on your cell while getting coffee and putting on your lipstick, you're still going to need to be hyper-vigilant. It also isn't set up automatically. To turn on the feature, use the General tab in Gmail settings and click Enable Undo Send. You'll also be able to choose the length of the cancellation period—though why anyone would choose less than the maximum 30 seconds is a mystery.

So there you are! Gmailers are now free to have all the trigger finger they please. Thanks, Google.
