UPDATE: Ariel Archer was sentenced to three years summary probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor trespass and refusing to leave private property, according to the L.A. County District Attorney's Office. A protective order was also issued prohibiting Archer from coming within 150 yards of the Smith family and their home.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith narrowly avoided a scary home invasion, and now, the woman allegedly behind it all is being charged with trespassing.

Ariel Archer has been formally charged with one misdemeanor count of trespassing and refusing to leave private property after an incident on March 21 in which prosecutors claim she was found in the Smith's family kitchen by a housekeeper.

Luckily, the famous family was out of the house at the time, but the ordeal is scary nonetheless.

Should the 26-year-old be convicted as charged, she faces a possible maximum sentence of six months in county jail and (or) a $1,000 fine.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and Archer is scheduled to be arraigned later today.

During a recent interview with Haute Living magazine, Pinkett Smith opened up about how her family will always come before anything else in her life.

"My family is my priority. If my family is stable and everyone has what they need, then I look at a way to fit in a creative endeavor," the Magic Mike XXL actress shared.

"There is no one way to do it! A woman needs to be deeply connected to herself and her family, and she has got to trust herself. It's about staying present and adjusting the formula which comes in a million forms. Trust takes courage—happiness takes courage; it's not easy!"

Neither Will nor Jada have spoken about the legal matter at this time.
