InstagramAva Phillippe's summer vacation is off to a fashionable start!
Reese Witherspoon and her 15-year-old daughter are currently vacationing in Rome, Italy. Phillippe documented their first day of in a series of Instagram posts, which showed them duo admiring iconic landmarks like the Arch of Constantine, Piazza Navona, Sant'Ignazio Church and the Vatican Museums.
That night, Witherspoon introduced her look-alike daughter to a fashion icon: Valentino! "What an honor to see Mr. Valentino at dinner last night in Rome @maisonvalentino #legend," the actress gushed.
Earlier this year, Witherspoon admitted to Glamour magazine that she was starting to feel like her own mom. "I'll always remember these platitudes my mother said to me, like, 'Your job is your life insurance. Don't ever let anybody take it away from you,'" the Hot Pursuit star said. "This is so dumb, but the other day Ava said, 'Well, mom, you said that drinking water with lemon is good for my body.' I burst into tears going, 'Oh my God, you listen to me!' Parenting triumph."
Witherspoon gave birth to Ava when she was just 23 years old.
"I didn't know what I was doing. I was young. It was shocking. When people ask, 'When's the best time to get pregnant?' I say, 'Pick the best day for when your entire life is gonna change.' There's no good time to have your world turned upside down," she joked, adding, "Seeing my kids for the first time was primal. The ferocity of love you feel for your children when you see them for the first time—but you've known them inside you—is phenomenal."
While Witherspoon had to "grieve" her "loss of privacy" after becoming a mom, she explained, "I don't think there's been an hour of my life since Ava was born that I don't think of my kids. I call it my CNN ticker tape: Is Ava OK? Yes. Is [Deacon Phillippe] OK? Yes. Is [Tennessee Toth] OK? Yes. Back to Ava."
Before her daughter graduates highs chool, Witherspoon revealed to Glamour that she hopes to teach Phillippe "to not be ashamed about any of her experiences. To live life fully, with curiosity and love, and to be brave."
