Blast from the past—Zoe Saldana edition!
In honor of the release of her forthcoming film Infinitely Polar Bear, E! News has dug up an old-school clip of the actress from 2002. At the time, the Guardians of the Galaxy star was just 23 years old, and she was promoting the coming-of-age comedy Drumline, which also starred Nick Cannon.
No surprise, she's gorgeous as always, but we can't help but giggle over her off-the-shoulder embroidered shirt!
"We move to rhythm. Everything that enhances us to do something is always predominately dominated by rhythm," Saldana, who starred as Cannon's love interested in the flick, said at the time. "It's very difficult for you not to want to give in to the beats of drums—it's very catchy.
"Especially to children," she continued. "We are oriented and we are guided by music…and the musical expertise or guidance of this film—it's going to get a lot of people interested."
While Saldana is now a married mother to twin boys, the actress even referred to herself as "old" at the time.
"I won't be surprised if kids start joining bands or just raising awareness or this or gaining interest. Will not be surprised, because I was interested in it a little," she said before adding with a laugh. "But I'm old, that was my excuse."
Since the release of Drumline, Saldana's star power has only risen and she has appeared in a number of notable films including Avatar, Star Trek and Pirates of the Caribbean. Her most recent movie, Infinitely Polar Bear, which also stars Mark Ruffalo, hits theaters tomorrow.
