First there was Eddie Redmayne and now there's Katherine Waterston!

Warner Bros. Pictures just announced that the Inherent Vice actress will star opposite the Oscar winner in the highly anticipated Harry Potter prequel, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The future flick is set to take place in J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World and Waterston will play the role of Tina, short for Porpentina, who's a witch that uses her magic in America.

It's there that she meets magizoologist Newt Scamander (played by Redmayne) during his trip to the Big Apple where he's set on documenting magical creatures.

Warner Bros. Pictures' president of creative development and worldwide production, Greg Silverman, said "Katherine Waterston is a rising star, who was a revelation in our film Inherent Vice, earning the praise of both critics and audiences.  We are thrilled to have her back in the Warner Bros. family."

Earlier this month, Redmayne spoke about his casting news for the first time in an interview with The London Evening Standard.

"I am so thrilled to be a part of it but I can't say a single word beyond that," the actor shared. "I've always loved that world and I feel thrilled to be invited into it."

Back in 2014, the film studio announced that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be a part of a trilogy, with films slated for release in 2016, 2018 and 2020.

Rowling will write the script, and David Yates—who helmed the final four Harry Potter films—will direct.
