Politicians didn't really need the dawn of the age of social media to learn that someone's always listening.

It's been the CSPAN era for quite some time, after all!

Not realizing a live microphone was nearby, Republican Sen. Mark Kirk of Illinois was overheard calling fellow legislator—and recently declared GOP presidential candidate—Sen. Lindsey Graham a "bro with no ho" during a Senate Appropriations Committee markup session earlier today.

Obviously it was not, as Huffington Post soon posted the audio. In context, Kirk was cracking a joke about Graham's bachelorhood status, saying, "I've been joking with Lindsey. Did you see that? He's going to have a rotating first lady. He's a bro with no ho."

Classy stuff all around.

Politico caught up with Kirk later in Washington, D.C., and asked if he regretted the comment.

"I do," he acknowledged, but had no futher comment.

The "rotating first lady" that Kirk was referring to was a joke initially made by Graham, who when asked earlier this week by the Daily Mail who his FLOTUS would be if he were elected said, "I've got a lot of friends. We'll have a rotating first lady."

Little did he know some of his colleagues would be hanging on his every word.
